Adult Laryngeal Hemangioma: Airway Obstruction

Adult laryngeal hemangiomas (ALH) are clearly defined, with a bluish red color, appearing most often in the region of glottis and supraglottis. The principal symptom is hoarseness, occasional hemoptysis, advanced cases, dysphagia difficulty breathing. patient was 55-year-old female suffering from hoarseness for long time, experiencing shortness breath last 1 year she referred to our clinic emergency department due stridor. In endoscopic examination patient, both vocal cords were found be mobile, blue-purple mass lesion detected, which filling subglottic allowing air passage only posterior part. Emergent tracheotomy performed airway safety. located approached Laryngofissure technique. Surgical management necessary when ALHs became symptomatic hemorrhagic or infectious complications, progressive obstruction. this paper, we present clinical radiological features large ALH.
